Shakespeare’s play about the extremes of ambition and violence.  Also about the collapse of two families – the childless, increasingly distant and self-destructive Macbeths, and the happily married, honourable Macduffs. The music needed elements of magic and menace for the witches and something harder and militaristic for the politics.  We used a fair amount of synthesizer with the medieval drums and conventional instruments.
